Sunday’s Plan
Due to the consistent prediction of sleet/ice for this weekend, the Sunday schedule is altered according the following:
Possibly one mass only at 11am.
We do not want to completely cancel the mass schedule in case the forecast changes. Fr Luke and I have a reasonable and safe plan for transportation. Whether or not you are able to attend is secondary to our call to celebrate the Eucharist and unite our petitions for the community and the world with the sacrifice of Christ. We trust you will follow the guidance of good sense and what is safe. Please be smart.
If Fr Luke and I are unable to make it to St Timothy’s (we are going to be smart, too), we will still offer mass from our homes. We will have mass kits with us and will pray for the living and the dead and all in the path of this storm. If we are unable to make it to church, a notice will be placed on the St Timothy’s Facebook page.
Will it be streamed? Possibly. This depends on the status of power and other considerations.
If you are iced in, please read the bulletins and reflect on the readings. Consider the wisdom St Paul imparts to his spiritual son, St Timothy. Reflect on the unique mission and witness of this parish and pray that we may continue to increase, both in our work and number.
Please support the work of the parish. Even if you are able to attend, the police officers are finding St Timothy’s a place for refreshment and refreshments. The Our Lady of Salem Shelter for Women has not closed. And prayer has not ceased.
One more thing, if you have a 4WD vehicle and are willing to assist our brothers and sisters if they find themselves in trouble or need, will you email me? Please also check in on those in our midst who will be particularly vulner able without power. I thinking especially of our older parishioners who may not have family in Winston-Salem to take care of them. If you know of someone who needs supplies or other pressing needs, call me (336-602-0370) and I will see if our 4WD volunteers can safely help.
