Music for December 14

The adult choir’s anthem for the Third Sunday of Advent is an original setting of “Jesus Christ, the Apple Tree” by Howard Helvey, organist and choirmaster of Calvary Episcopal Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Also, at the beginning of the 11am mass, the Children’s Formation Choir will sing a Hebrew folksong titled “Dance and sing, for the Lord will be with us” arranged by Hal Hopson, a prolific composer and church musician from Texas who died this year at the age of 92. We are grateful for the leadership of Kristine Daynes and Lea Thullbery with the Children’s Formation Choir.
