Greening the Church

Calling all Guilds, Societies,  and Christmas Tree decorators! Yes, it is that time of year again! Time to haul out the holly and decorate the trees! Mark your calendars for December 20th at 8:00am as the Guild of St. Isidore the Farmer hosts the annual Christmas Tree decorating event.

December 20th is the day of the Rorate Caeli mass, and it starts at 6:00am. To accommodate those attending the mass and to add a bit of fun to the day, here is the plan....

After the Rorate Caeli mass, we will have a time of fellowship with breakfast in Gribbin (starting at 7:00am). We will have donuts, biscuits, muffins, coffee etc.

We will start working on the trees at 8:00am.

If you are not attending mass, still come for fun. fellowship, and breakfast if you can.

If you are not able to make either of those, no worries - you can still come at 8:00am or later for decorating as it usually takes a couple of hours or so depending on the number of folks who participate.

Each Guild and Society is asked to contribute $75.00 for their tree. This covers the cost of the trees and allows for replacement of burned out light strands and battery packs. When you donate, just include in the memo line that it is for Christmas Trees and the name of the Guild. If you are contributing online, choose Flower Fund and then include the details in the "Write Us a Comment" field. Each Guild can decide what works best for them when it comes to chipping in for the cost.

Looking forward to another year of beautiful trees and fun times decorating!
