Music for December 21

The choir’s anthem for the Fourth Sunday of Advent is “The white dove” by Johannes Brahms. Click here for a preview. The English translation of the original German begins, “A snow white dove from heaven flew down to the earth. In angel form it greeted a maid of lowly birth. With peace and joy its tidings filled her breast. For she, above all women, would be forever blessed. Kyrie eleison.” For Christmas Eve, the choir is looking forward to singing Mozart’s Mass in G Major, K. 140 along with many of your favorite carols. We will have strings, trumpet, and timpani also joining us. We hope to see you there!
