February 1 Schedule Changes

Unofficial Groundhog Day

I was hoping Winston-Salem might be in the so-called “dry spot” and be spared an amount of snow that would impact our Sunday, however….here we go again. (By the way, the official Groundhog Day is better observed as Candlemas and we will have a solemn mass at 6pm on Monday.)

  • One Mass at 11am

    • This worked well last week, and was a gift to those who are close enough to walk to church. We will set up a static stream again. If you are driving, please use good judgement. Our advice - don’t come in on Parkway, too icy. Come in on Westover and then turn right on Bellview and then left into the church.

  • Parish Meeting Postponed to next Sunday, time to be determined. In the meantime, all of the documents are online.

  • The bulletins are online. If you are unable to attend, read the lessons and reflect on them. Tomorrow is the Septuagesima, the beginning of a traditional mini-season in preparation for Lent. I just found this resource, produced by a Roman-Catholic layman. I think it is quite good.  Some of the dietary restrictions may seem a bit severe, but the spirit behind the recommendations is commendable.

  • Please support the work of the parish by giving online. Better yet, why not make a recurring gift so your support makes a real difference regardless of any delay in weather?
