More Opportunities to Support St. Timothy’s

As we approach the end of the year, many parishioners look for ways to support St. Timothy’s beyond their annual pledge. One meaningful way to do this is through giving to our designated funds.

Designated funds are separate from our operating budget, meaning they are not supported by Tithes and Offerings. Instead, they exist to support specific projects and ministries that are important to the life of this parish. Gifts to these funds go directly and exclusively toward their stated purpose.

While the operating budget is a top priority for keeping the parish running and the lights on (please do not neglect your pledge in favor of designated funds!), our designated funds allow you to support specific areas of our common life that you may feel especially called to.

Below are some of the designated funds in order of current most pressing needs that we maintain with a brief description beside each one. You can designate your gifts by selecting the appropriate dropdown as you give online or by putting the fund in the memo line of check or stock gift.

Capital Improvements Fund - major capital projects, most recently supporting the renovation of Drake Hall

Worship Projects Fund - improvements and projects for the church and chapel such as shrine improvements, fabric, and more. In the past it has been used for new windows and Stations of the Cross.

Homeless Ministries - the Our Lady of Salem Shelter for Women

Music Ministry - this fund is used to provide special, unique music offerings that are not budgeted for out of the operating budget (violinists on feast days, string instruments at Easter, evening mass choirs, etc.)

Guild of St. Michael - snacks, cookouts, and other gifts and support for our Law Enforcement officers who use our space around the clock

Guild of St. Isidore - the Isidore Guild assists with upkeep of the grounds at St. Timothy’s and helps to beautify the spaces through pruning, planting, weed pulling and other landscaping projects

Youth Mission Trip - the annual Veram Vitam trip for our youth group

Rector and Curate Discretionary Fund (two separate funds) - clergy discretionary funds are used exclusively for charitable and pious purposes that are consistent with the mission of the church, meaning they are never used to benefit the clergy directly
