Music for May 17

The choral anthem for the Sunday after the Ascension is “Be Thou My Vision”  in an arrangement by Alice Parker, the distinguished American composer and conductor known for her collaborations with Robert Shaw. The anthem will feature our staff tenor, Christian Souza. Its final stanza beautifully echoes this week’s readings: “High King of heaven, my victory won, may I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun! Heart of my heart, whatever befall, still be my vision, O Ruler of all.”
