Music for March 22
For the Fifth Sunday in Lent, the choir will sing a setting of the medieval hymn “Jesus, the very thought of thee” attributed to St. Bernard of Clairvaux and arranged by Arlen Clarke. This setting uses an English translation of the original Latin (Jesu dulcis memoria) by Edward Caswall which begins, “Jesus, the very thought of thee with sweetness fills the breast; but sweeter far thy face to see, and in thy presence rest.” Please also join us for the Feast of the Annunciation on Wednesday, March 25 at 6pm where the choir will sing Haydn’s Little Organ Mass with strings.
